Dear Wolfiethon Community,

We are incredibly honored and grateful to accept the positions of Wolfiethon Co-Chairs for Wolfiethon 2024. We are excited to lead our Seawolf community in the efforts of Wolfiethon and the B+ Foundation, both of which significantly impact the lives of children with cancer and their families. In the Wolfiethon community, we strive to "Be Positive" and "Live Like Andrew" in everything we do, working towards a future where we can find a cure for childhood cancer. Together, we are committed to making a difference, one step at a time.

Wolfiethon Dance Marathon is one of the largest philanthropic organizations at Stony Brook University, and we are honored to serve as Co-Chairs for its 5th Annual event. This year, we look forward to continuing the growth of this incredible organization, all while raising crucial funds and awareness for children battling childhood cancer. Wolfiethon, in partnership with The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, works to provide both emotional and financial support to families affected by childhood cancer. As an organization and a university, we are proud to have offered hope, support, and lasting memories to countless families across the country.

Essentially, Wolfiethon is all about “kids helping kids fight cancer.” As Co-Chairs, we are proud to lead a community of students who dedicate their time to creating a better world by dancing for those who can’t. The Wolfiethon community is committed to reminding families and their children that they are deeply cared for, even in the midst of the hardships that childhood cancer brings. In partnership with The B+ Foundation, a portion of the funds raised also goes towards cutting-edge research aimed at transforming the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we are determined to make a lasting impact.

Throughout our years as an organization on campus, we have seen firsthand the incredible impact students can have and their power to change lives. We are both extremely honored and excited to spend this year leading such an amazing organization, surrounded by individuals who share the same passion and dedication that we do. The Wolfiethon community has truly embodied what it means to “Be Positive,” and we cannot wait to see the difference that will be made this year through Wolfiethon 2024. Together, we are eager to make this year unforgettable.

We fundraise to honor the children who spend hours, days, and years in the hospital fighting for their lives. We dance because no child should have to spend their childhood in a hospital instead of outside playing. We dance for our B+ Heroes and the meaningful relationships they build with their paired organizations. We dance for Andrew, and for all the children who never got the chance to experience the happy, healthy childhood they deserved. We dance for the parents who have lost their children and face that heartache every day. We dance for the siblings, who also lose a part of their childhood in the wake of their sibling’s diagnosis. We dance as a support system for families enduring the toughest battles of their lives.

We dance until every child gets to play. We dance through every season because, just as seasons change, lives change. We all dance for different reasons, and we hope that you will join us and find your own reason to dance and make a difference. Because of you, we are one step closer to a world without childhood cancer, and one step closer to changing the lives of the children and families affected.
